Juice Cleanse Day Two
Day two of the cleanse.
Last night was pretty difficult. I had some food left over at home - dahl, basmati rice and seitan - so I brought it over to the studio last night. The smell of that food being reheated was so hard - and watching everyone eat it! - but I stayed strong and drank my herbal tea. The smoothie I made last night for my evening “meal” was really good, too; this is a fairly easy cleanse as far as cleanses go, so I shouldn’t complain. I just love to eat… I love it so much.
(That’s what veganism has done for me; it’s made me truly appreciate food.)
Today, day two, I am slightly headachey… but energetic. I woke up early this morning (despite a late last night) and cleaned, did laundry, made my morning smoothie/tea, and drank them followed by a big glass of water.
B wrote me out a schedule for the cleanse, so if you’re interested, this is what I am consuming daily for 7 - 14 days. All drinks are a full cup, that is, 250mL.
JUICE CLEANSE
Breakfast: Greens smoothie, herbal tea, water
Between: Herbal tea, water
Lunch: Greens smoothie, juice, herbal tea
Between: Juice, herbal tea, water
Supper: Greens smoothie, herbal tea, water
After: Herbal tea, water, juice
The smoothies I’ve been making have consisted of these basic ingredients, thus far:
CLEANSE SMOOTHIE
1 banana, frozen, broken into two pieces for ease of blending
2/3 cup pineapple juice
1 piece fruit, either frozen or fresh (one peach, 1/2 mango, one - two apricots, etc.)
2 heaping teaspoons Greens powder
Blend. Drink.
P.S. The shirt I’m wearing today says
WOMEN WANT ME

Thanks for sharing.
I may try this cleansing method, I’ve been undergoing a series of tests with a gasterointerologist to try and get to the bottom of some health issues. After seeing another specialist I may be told to eat according to my blood type which will require me to go back to eating red meat. It appears that what I thought were my good eating habits may have hindered my health. Somehow I’ve ended up with a bowel system that refuses to work like it used to and flares up, like severely. I’ve lost some weight, and I’m already kinda small as is so people worry about me. Doctors think I have IBD (Chron’s Disease) which there is no cure for, only manageability in hopes of remission. And its taken them forever to come to this conclusion. Really sucks I tell you. Difficulty walking, and moving about, feel fucking crippled and they’re just taking fucking guesses.
I will try your stuff though, maybe it will do me some good.

That’s super shitty… I would recommend a juice cleanse, it’ll help isolate your issues so you can help to figure out what exactly is causing your problems. I hope you don’t go back to eating red meat… I can’t imagine that it’d be good for anyone because it’s SO hard to digest and process. Is it something in red meat that you’re missing? Iron or protein?

It could be some kind of digestive enzyme or something I must be lacking now that I really need. Growing up around meat eaters and playing sports, meat was a pretty significant part of my diet. Then suddenly stopping it after 18 years may have offset something.
Doctors also say my recent up in caffiene could have played a role, job stress., too much acids etc. Although no messy bloody ulcers or anything, so it’s kinda weird.
Honestly though, I’d go back to eating red meat if it made all the pain go away. As messed up as it sounds, I don’t want to feel fucking crippled you know. It sucks, but I’ve heard of similar things happening with other people trying to eat one way and finding out they have to go back.
They’d likely start me off with beef stock soups, and go up to actual red meat a while later, we’ll see though.
I’ll lurk and keep ya posted.
